TIDE staff engage in Team Building exercise
 |
| Round table discussion among TIDE staff. |
On Friday October 13, 2006, the entire staff of The Toledo institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) along with a few Board of Directors members participated in a Team Building Retreat at the Machaca Hill Lodge formally known as the Pescador.
The entire day was spent evaluating the areas which needed to be improved upon to make our work more efficient and effective, especially in the communities we serve and in the management of our protected areas.
The consultant who conducted the exercise, Mr. Harold Hendrie, expressed his opinions and stated that he is pleased to mention that we, here at TIDE, have achieved a lot more positive things than many other Non-Government Institutions established long before us. It is something to be proud of he said and he would like to see us raise the bar in the execution of our responsibilities.
He added that we have set a trend that may be difficult but not

impossible for other NGOs to follow and we must keep up the good work. Mr. Hendrie says he loves Belize especially the Toledo District and will return soon to enjoy this picturesque portion of the Jewel. He is fascinated by the work of our rangers and is eager to spend time out in the reserve where they work. Harold Hendrie is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and has been working out of New York and Belize City.
The entire staff and management express their hart felt thanks to Mr. Hendrie, though he refers to be called Harold, for the time well spent.
