TIDE welcomes volunteers from abroad
The greatest TIDE asset is human resources – staff are committed to the mission and work and are truly leading community participation in conservation.
Volunteers are greatly appreciated by TIDE staff; the hours they contribute allow regular staff to work more efficiently, making TIDE a more effective organization. Volunteers Chris Hamley and Al Daly have been with TIDE since last year. Al will soon be leaving TIDE as his six months draw to a close. He has been working primarily on the management plan for the Port Honduras Marine Reserve. Chris Hamley has been with TIDE for almost five months, and has been tracking and analyzing biodiversity.
Yolanda Antoniades and Sally Walker travelled in the United States and are now traveling in Central America by RV. Joined by Luke Parker, they spent two weeks working with rangers at the TIDE Private Protected Lands and creating signs.
All of the volunteers in the picture above are from Great Britain. Not pictured is Jessica Brehmer from the United States who is working at TIDE Tours. Later this month we will expand our international horizons welcoming volunteers from France, South Africa, and Great Britain.
