Earth Day, Belize, and TIDE: Update

The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) is working with Ya’axche Conservation Trust and other organizations to facilitate tree planting at schools in the Toledo District of southern Belize. At each of the following schools, 3-5 trees have been donated by Ya’axche, will be delivered by TIDE, and will be planted by students:

St. Peter Claver School, Punta Gorda Town
United Methodist School, Punta Gorda Town
Adventist School, Punta Gorda Town
Cattle Landing School, Cattle Landing
Toledo Community College, Punta Gorda Town
Little Flower R.C. School
San Marcos Schoo, San Marcos Village
San Pedro Columbia School, San Pedro Columbia Village
San Miguel School, San Miguel Village
Silver Creek School, Silver Creek Village
Forest Home Methodist School, Forest Home Village
Big Falls School, Big Falls Village
Indian Creek School, Indian Creek Village
Tree planing is being facilitated at other schools in the area by Ya’axche Conservation Trust, Plenty Belize, and the Southern Environmental Alliance.
Each of the schools is also planning a clean-up event for Earth Day and some have also planned art activities.
