On 25 February 2010, the German Ambassador to Belize, Peter Linder, visited the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment. He was accompanied by representatives from the Mesoamerican Reef Fund, Maria Jose Gonzalez, the KfW Development Bank, Stefan Rischar, and the Protected Areas Conservation Trust, Nayari Diaz and other PACT Staff.

TIDE staff articulated the mission and work of the Port Honduras Marine Reserve through visits to the Ranger and Visitor Station at Abalone Caye, West Snake Caye, and Monkey River.  Lunch was enjoyed at Alice’s Restaurant in Monkey River Village followed by a brief visit up the river to view the wildlife and vegetation and the inter-connectedness of the watershed and the sea.
