MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Education and Outreach Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, communication, monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of the TIDE Education and Outreach Program. This involves working with relevant staff and partners to coordinate and implement environmental education activities related to the TIDE program areas in schools and communities within the Maya Mountain Marine Corridor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Implementation
- Use TIDE planning documents and other relevant materials and information to re-design the Education and Outreach Program.
- Work with program staff to develop three year work plan and budget
· Implement work plan with the assistance of staff
· Monitor and evaluate the implementation of work plan
- Prepare monthly reports and contribute articles for annual report
- Prepare project related reports
Communication
· Develop and lead implementation of TIDE communication plan
· With assistance of IT manager, use a variety of media to inform constituents of program related activities
· Keep accurate records of outreach activities
Other Duties:
· Conduct performance appraisal for staff under your supervision
- Assist with fund-raising efforts of the institution
- Collaborate with national and international partners
- Participate in management team meetings
- Make program related presentations at public events
- Assist with assigned duties from time to time to meet organizational goals
Report to: Program Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor Degree in Environmental Education, Natural Resources Management or Environmental Science
· Experience with elementary, secondary and/or adult education methodologies and curriculum development
· Experience working with schools, communities and civil society organizations
· At two least two years experience in project management
· Good planning, communication and presentation skills
· Competence in using information technology
· Leadership skills
· Task oriented team player
