Climate Change Display Competition

Published in

Schools have been laboring for some weeks to perfect their displays for the climate change display completion hosted by TIDE and sponsored by UNICEF.  Under this competition, schools within the Toledo District were given the task to create a display that highlights climate change, climate change mitigation measures and climate change adaptation measures.  After TIDE visited all the participating schools on December 12th and 13th to judge the displays, it was observed that the schools did their homework! They went above and beyond to create displays. In fact, the competition was extremely close! However, like in every competition, there must be a winner: First place goes to Silver Creek Primary School, second place goes to St. Peter Claver School and third place goes to St. Benedict Primary School.

All schools, including students and teachers did an excellent job and they all will be rewarded! Top three winners receive stationary package, a necessity for every school.  In addition, the first place winner also receives a trip to Port Honduras Marine Reserve.  It should be noted that all other participating schools will receive smaller stationary packages.

TIDE wants to thank all schools for participating in this innovative initiative to increase awareness on climate change; a very important issue that affects us all.  TIDE would also like to thank UNICEF for sponsoring this competition. TIDE looks forward to working with the schools next year for a bigger and better Climate Change Display Competition!
